This article is part of the series “Discovering All Features of the Gokasa Software,” where we dive into each tool that helps you streamline your operations and increase sales.
The “PLU Articles” feature is where you can find all essential information about your items – from product linking, price tag printing, and product group management to creating discount campaigns. It also allows you to track separate exchange rates for each product group and your entire inventory in the system.

1. Product table overview
All products in the system are displayed in a clear table with key details: EAN code, product name, main sale price, secondary price, purchase price, stock quantity, and expiration date (if available). You can click on any product to quickly edit its information. Stock levels and expiration dates are clearly shown in the corners of the screen for easy monitoring.
2. Adding a new product
To add a new product, simply enter a code that doesn’t exist in the system yet, then fill in the name, main and secondary price (the system automatically calculates the percentage difference), product group, and unit. If the product has a weight in grams, you can enter it and enable the “use weight as quantity when selling” option. Then enter the stock quantity, purchase price, and expiration date. After saving, you can print a price tag to attach to the product or group card.
3. Expiration date management
The expiration tracking feature helps you identify products nearing expiry so you can adjust their pricing in time. The system highlights them in color: red means expired, yellow means approaching expiration, and green means the product is still good for a while.
4. Product linking
The system allows you to link related products – for example, when selling a bottle of beer, it automatically includes the deposit for the bottle. Or, when selling a drink, it deducts ingredients like sugar, lemon, or syrup. Just enter the main product code and link it to one or more associated codes.
5. Product group anagement
You can create new groups by entering a group number and name, setting the applicable tax rate, recycling fees if any, enabling/disabling group button display on the POS screen, and optionally applying a tax surcharge. You can also assign a background image to distinguish groups. The system supports setting custom exchange rates for currencies like EUR and CZK, which is helpful for serving international customers.
6. Printing price tags
You can customize the price tag details such as bold text, tax rate, and discount label. Newly added products that haven’t had price tags printed yet will appear at the bottom of the list. If you’re using the Gokasa Manager app and have selected the “print price tag” option when receiving goods, all tags will automatically print – quickly and efficiently.
7. Creating discount campaigns
Creating promotional campaigns is simple – enter the campaign name, choose the time frame and target customer group. Then scan the products to be discounted and print new price tags with the reduced price and “AKCE” label. You can also set up BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) promotions and customize the campaign content. Active campaigns are shown in green, while expired ones appear in gray.
